On the west coast of Gotland you will find one of the best preserved Hanseatic cities: Visby. It has fifty watchtowers, gates, drawbridges and walls. Once a year there is a Medieval Week. The town is filled with monks, artisans, knights and merchants. The city has twelve Gothic churches, including the Santa Katarina. Visby was chosen by GEO as one of the top 10 cities in Europe clays.
