It is a beautiful and contemporary metaphor that Gorizia, whose fate was so greatly determined by the outcome of two world wars, advocates for tearing down walls. There really was a wall in the city, in the form of fencing that after the Second World War separated the modern part of the city from the old part: Nova Gorica belonged to Yugoslavia, Gorizia remained part of Italy, where it ended up as war booty after the First World War.
With this dual poster, both cities are trying to find each other again. Especially in the old part, once called the Nice of Austria, it is a pleasure to enjoy the mild climate south of the Alps, baroque churches, museums, and the Piazza della Transalpina.
