Wat Khoi situated in Tambon Pho Rang Nok in Pho Thong district of Ang Thong Province, is known for its half century old fish sanctuary called Wang Pla Wat Khoi (fish palace) initiated by Phra Khru Sukitwichan (Luangpho Khem). At present, there are various species of fish living together such as sawai (genus Pangasius), rad (gourami), thepo (genus Pangasius), buek (Pangasianodon gigas), tapian (carp) and many more. There are also many birds of various species which naturally dwell here such as the egret, heron, open-billed stork, night heron, cormorant and kingfisher. Certain species are nearly extinct and cannot easily be seen in elsewhere. The small local museum situated under an ancient teak monastic structure, displays various kinds of old boats. Also farmer and fishing equipment, used by the Thai people in the central region is found, such as stone mortars, hand rice mill, rice winnowing basket, fishing traps etc.
