Wat Bot

Wat Bot or the "Monastery of the Ordination Hall" is a classic Buddhist monastery situated on the right bank of the Chao Phraya River in In Buri District of Sing Buri Province. The monastery houses the In Buri National Museum. The museum has two exhibition halls being the Puem Duriyangkoon and Sakburi halls. It was originally a collection of ancient objects gathered by an abbot of the temple and housed in situ and called the Wat Bot Museum. Later the collection was transferred to the Fine Arts Department and subsequently changed to In Buri National Museum. We find items excavated at the Dvaravati site of Mueang Khu nearby, artefacts excavated at the kilns along the Noi River, Buddha images, etc. One hall exhibits objects of the Ratanakosin era such as King Rama V’s palanquin, shadow play figures, ecclesiastical fans and features under objects out of the daily rural life.
