Situated to the east of Wat Phra Si Iriyabot, Wat Khong Chai was constructed in line with the east-west axis. Like other temples, temple walls were built on two sides in the west and the south only. Outside the temple wall towards the west, a large laterite quarry was found. At the front of the temple, there is a vihara. Its lower base in square shape was elevated so high that each base side looked like a wall. The upper base, superimposed on the lower one, was built in a lotus form decorated with ring-like mouldings. Front and back porches flanked by stairways on both sides of each covered entrance were constructed on this upper base. Buildings in the style just mentioned are prevalent in Kamphaeng Phet. Inside this nine-roomed vihara, a structure remains raised above floor level for monks to sit on and a pedestal of the principal Buddha image in sitting posture. Behind the vihara are situated square and octagonal bases vihara are remains of the main chedi in bell shape of this temple.
