Wat Phra Rup

Another interesting antique displayed in the temple compound is a wooden Buddha footprint replica. The footprint is 221.5 centimeters long, 74 centimeters wide, and 10 centimeters thick. Made of delicately carved Paduak wood, it is the only one of its kind in Thailand. The footprint was at first housed at Wat Khao Din. During a war between Thailand and Burma, it was removed by a monk who feared the precious item would be damaged during the fighting. The monk travelled down the river with the wooden relic in hand, and placed it at the current location. Moreover, the temple compound also has many other religious artifacts such as Chedis or stupas from the U Thong period and the Dvaravati period, a bronze bell and a delicately carved pulpit in the late Ayutthaya style.
