Prasat Non Ku was included in the inventories carried out by both Aymoniet and de Lajonquiere. Subsequently 1959 saw the first excavations and restorations carried out at the site by the Fine Arts Department. The work was incomplete and department carried out additional works in 1991-92. The tower which was constructed on a sandstone base has completely collapsed; all that remains being the two-metre high rectangular base. Various artefacts found in the vicinity lead to a date within the Koh Ker period or at least to the first half of the 10th century. The site was officially proclaimed as Ancient Monument on 27 September 1936.
