Wat Nong Pa Phong is situated outside the city wall to the west. The monument is surrounded by a rectangular moat of 40 by 60 meters. The major buildings of the monastery are a lotus bud shaped chedi as the principal building and a bricked vihara or assembly hall located to the east of the main chedi. From the excavation of the site in 1995 AD the lotus bud finial part of the chedi, which formerly toppled over on the floor, was discovered. As the structure of the chedi was made of brick, it was difficult to connect the unburied finial part to the platform of the chedi; therefore the lotus bud finial part was reconstructed in order to complete the shape of the chedi.
