2. Archaeological evidence from excavation suggests that during the monument's late years. the stair case on the west lead from the ground to the uppermost terrace of the stupa, while the other three were closed. In the middle of the structure is today a looter's pit. Apart from the main stupa there were several brick stupas and laterite buildings found. The style of architecture and decoration suggest that Khao Klang Nok was constructed in the Dvaravati period around the 8th-9th century AD.
