Wat Huai Luek in Mae Tan Historical Town has no historical evidence of its establishment. Still, the architectural style of the structures and artefacts suggests that this temple was established in the Lan Na period in the 15th century. The site shows an assembly hall (vihara) with a stupa behind it. There are also traces of a boundary wall. The site was only partly excavated in 2018 CE and no restoration was done. The ruin is named after the stream Huai Luek in the area running into the Moei River.
