Did you know there is a link between the Niagara Falls and the famous scientist Nikolas Tesla. When he was kicked out by Thomas Edison because Edison thought there was no future in AC, Tesla was without a descent job for two years. He was picked up by the inventor and investor Westinghouse. Together with him he developed the AC technology for electricity. Westinghouse won the contract to build the AC generating turbines at the Niagara Falls. It proved to be a much more efficient way to generate electricity at that time.
