The New York Tribune Building was a building in the Financial District of Manhattan in New York City, across from City Hall and the Civic Center. It was at the intersection of Nassau and Spruce Streets, at 154 Printing House Square. Part of the former "Newspaper Row", it operated as the headquarters of the New-York Tribune from 1875 to 1923.
The Tribune Building contained a facade of brick and masonry, with a clock tower at the top. The building was originally ten stories high, including a mansard roof, and measured 260 feet tall to its pinnacle. It was expanded in the 1900s to nineteen stories, with an enlarged mansard roof and a pinnacle height of 335 feet . The Tribune Building was one of the first high-rise elevator buildings and an early skyscraper. Its design was mostly negatively criticized during its existence.
