Loch Ness Monster is a steel roller coaster at Busch Gardens Williamsburg. It was the first coaster with two interlocking loops. Despite what some sources say, this was never the world's tallest roller coaster. It was around two feet shorter than the actual tallest at the time. It was also never the fastest. The Coney Island Cyclone was built in 1927 and had the same speed.
The Loch Ness is the only remaining roller coaster with two interlocking loops. In addition to the interlocking loops, located over one of the park's water features, the design includes a helix tunnel, two lift hills and a 114-foot drop. The ride sits within the park's Scottish hamlet, Heatherdowns, and relates the legend of the Loch Ness Monster, suggesting the serpent inhabits its underwater caves.
