Turin was platted in 1887. It was named after Turin, in Italy. A post office was established at Turin in 1887, and remained in operation until it was discontinued in 1996.
Turin is located at 42°1′15″N 95°58′3″W . It is situated near the confluence of the Little Sioux and Maple rivers.
