Este antiguo taller restaurado incluye: una sala dedicada a la geología regional, un espacio que ilustra los aspectos económicos, históricos y sociales de la explotación del coticule* (piedra de afeitar) en la región.
El * Coticule es una formación rocosa que no se encuentra en ningún otro lugar del mundo, excepto en esta región. Esta piedra de vetas muy finas, que mide entre 2 y 4 cm de grosor y proviene del Filadeno violeta, se compone principalmente de granos de granate muy finos, aglutinados por lo que parece ser un cemento arcilloso. El color amarillento es típico de este mineral. La piedra de afilar de la región de Vielsalm es tan famosa que se exporta a todos los países del mundo.
