Vresse-sur-Semois es el municipio más boscoso de Bélgica. Limita con la frontera francesa y se encuentra a fácil dos horas en coche del centro del poder en Bruselas. También un viaje a Namur requiere más de una hora. Las doce divisiones municipales que lo componen tienen nombres que encierran una promesa o plantean preguntas. Se llaman Laforêt y Pussemange, pero también Nafraiture, Membre, Bagimont y Orchimont. Se extienden sobre una superficie de 101 kilómetros cuadrados. Los pequeños núcleos de los pueblos son solo puntitos en un mar de verde. Porque este es el municipio más boscoso del país, un 72,8 por ciento del territorio pertenece aquí a cortezas y hojas. A lo largo de las orillas verdes en el valle, el Semois serpentea ancho y reluciente pasando por los muchos campings, terrazas y lugares donde se pueden alquilar kayaks. Cada año, miles de turistas llegan a las numerosas gîtes y pequeños hoteles de esta región.
