En el lado sur de la Gran Plaza se encuentra el ayuntamiento. La parte más antigua, que data del periodo de 1769 a 1771, fue diseñada por el arquitecto Hendrik Bultinck de Brujas en estilo Luis XV. La elegante torre fue diseñada por el roselarense Jacob Caytan. En el frontón del extremo del tejado destaca el escudo de armas del mecenas Carlos Teodoro de Neuburgo, señor de Roeselare. El edificio sufrió graves daños al final de la Primera Guerra Mundial. Para resolver la falta de espacio, el arquitecto municipal René Doom construyó en 1924-1925 el 'nuevo ayuntamiento', inspirándose en la antigua sala del ayuntamiento.
