Situado en el corazón del valle de la Haine, el complejo pantanoso de Harchies-Hensies-Pommeroeul, más conocido como los "Pantanos de Harchies", es un sitio importante para la ornitología en la Región Valona. Constituye un sitio de tránsito crucial durante la migración de aves y ofrece condiciones ideales para la invernación de numerosas especies. Si bien para los ornitólogos, las aves ocupan un lugar preponderante, esta Zona Humeda de Interés Biológico alberga múltiples riquezas biológicas.
