El actual castillo Den Brandt data de alrededor de 1780. Ya tenía entonces el elegante jardín francés delante del castillo y solo fue ampliado a mediados del siglo XIX con un bosque de parque y el jardín inglés con canales y estanques detrás del castillo. A finales del siglo XIX se llevó a cabo un parcelamiento en los bordes del dominio. En 1910 la ciudad compró el dominio y lo abrió al público junto con los otros castillos como un parque. Hoy en día, los dominios del castillo forman un considerable conjunto forestal. A pesar de su carácter de parque, se pueden encontrar muchas especies típicas de bosque como anémona de bosque, flores de mayo, sello de Salomón y hierba de la suerte. El pico moteado medio es un residente típico del bosque.
