La casa dorada (1899), uno de los testigos más importantes del Art Nouveau en Valonia, debe su nombre a su decoración "dorada", en particular a la de su imponente esgrafiado que adorna su fachada principal.
El interior de la vivienda conserva una gran autenticidad.
La pieza más significativa es el comedor que se prolonga por un jardín de invierno.
Puertas y lucernarios están adornados con vitrales que representan flores y hojas enrollándose en espirales decorativas. Se distinguen flores azules y naranja-rojo montadas sobre tallos y hojas verde manzana.
Catalogada desde 1993, la casa dorada fue adquirida en 1999 por la ciudad de Charleroi, que allí instala una casa de la prensa.
