Poesele es una aldea en la provincia belga de Flandes Oriental y una parte del municipio de Deinze. Al sur del lugar fluye el Poekebeek. Una antigua mención de Poesele se remonta a un documento de 1121 como Poksela. Este nombre es una fusión de Poka o el Poekebeek, y sali, una palabra germánica para una casa de campo de una sola habitación. La señoría de Poesele pertenecía primero a la familia de Beveren, los condes de Diksmuide. Desde 1284 hasta el final del ancien régime, estuvo bajo el dominio de los señores de Nevele.
