Lahamaide es una aldea en la provincia belga de Henao y un distrito del municipio valón de Elzele en el Pays des Collines. El nombre Lahamaide significa barrera. Desde el siglo XI, Lahamaide estuvo en manos de la noble familia del mismo nombre de la Hamaide. En 1485, Michel de la Hamaide murió sin descendencia, lo que llevó a que Lahamaide pasara a manos de su sobrina María de Berlaymont. Ella se casó con Jacobo I de Luxemburgo-Fiennes, haciendo que el castillo pasara a ser propiedad de la casa de Luxemburgo-Fiennes. Cuando la hija Francisca de Luxemburgo se casó con Juan IV de Egmont, el castillo de Lahamaide se convirtió en propiedad de la casa de Egmont. Lamoral de Egmont nació allí el 18 de noviembre de 1522.
