Lahamaide è un comune nel Belgio, nella provincia di Hainaut, ed è una frazione del comune vallone di Elzele nel Pays des Collines. Il nome Lahamaide significa barrire. A partire dall'undicesimo secolo, Lahamaide era in possesso della omonima famiglia nobiliare de la Hamaide. Nel 1485, Michel de la Hamaide morì senza discendenti, portando Lahamaide a passare nelle mani di sua cugina Maria van Berlaymont. Ella sposò Giacomo I di Lussemburgo-Fiennes, rendendo così il castello di proprietà della casa di Lussemburgo-Fiennes. Quando la figlia Francesca di Lussemburgo si sposò con Giovanni IV di Egmont, il castello di Lahamaide divenne di proprietà della casa di Egmont. Lamoraal di Egmont nacque lì il 18 novembre 1522.
