Has llegado al borde de la reserva natural educativa 'het Spei'. En 1988, escolares de Oudenaarde plantaron aquí un bosque mixto de frondosas. Durante los años siguientes, el departamento de medio ambiente municipal también comenzó a gestionar las parcelas adyacentes. Filas de árboles pollardos, bordes de caminos arbolados y cercados, setos boscosos, árboles frutales estándar y charcas de anfibios caracterizan el paisaje en la actualidad. La pradera se corta solo dos veces al año para dar a la fauna y flora amplias oportunidades para crecer.
