La estación de Aalst fue inaugurada el 9 de junio de 1853 en la ciudad de Aalst, en Flandes Oriental, por la compañía Dender y Waas en la línea ferroviaria 57. El 7 de abril de 1855 se convirtió en una estación de tren en la línea 50. El 1 de junio de 1876, Aalst se conectó a través de la línea 82 sobre Burst con Zottegem. Esta línea se amplió más tarde hasta Ronse. El 12 de octubre de 1879 siguió la conexión a Amberes a través de la línea 61.
