De Zaat (dialecto para 'astillero') es el antiguo sitio de Boelwerf, un terreno de 87 hectáreas que fue reorganizado como zona residencial y de PYMEs. El antiguo complejo administrativo de Boelwerf ha sido maravillosamente restaurado y ahora alberga los servicios municipales. También se ha establecido un nuevo puerto deportivo en De Zaat. La casa club es accesible como taberna para todos. La terraza en la azotea ofrece una vista espectacular del Escalda y Temse.
