En las excavaciones de 1969 se descubrió una parte del sas y un trozo del muro de muelle del Lieve, el antiguo canal entre Gante y Damme. Los barcos podían tener un máximo de 4,5 m de largo, 2,4 m de ancho y un calado de 90 cm.
Protegido como monumento (M.B. del 17/10/1997).
