El mercado de pescado fue trasladado en 1745 a Braamberg, un lugar entre Groene Rei y Braambergstraat. Antes se vendía pescado en el mercado. La plaza del mercado no fue cubierta hasta 1820-1821 con un edificio neoclásico, diseñado por el arquitecto municipal Jan-Robert Calloigne. Una doble columnata de 126 columnas toscanas sin base rodea un patio rectangular. El portal de entrada elevado con arco forma la única interrupción en la fila de columnas.
