La ruta ciclista RurUfer es un sendero que recorre aproximadamente 180 kilómetros a lo largo del Rur. Comienza cerca de las fuentes del Rur en la colina más alta de Bélgica, el Botrange en las Altas Ardenas, y va hasta la desembocadura en el Mosa en la ciudad holandesa de Roermond. Entre estos puntos, el trayecto transcurre en su mayor parte por territorio alemán. En Kalterherberg, la ruta cruza la frontera belgo-alemana y pasa por Monschau, junto al Obersee y la Rurtalsperre hacia Heimbach. Desde allí, continúa en dirección norte a través de Nideggen y Kreuzau, pasando por el distrito de Düren y luego por el distrito de Heinsberg. Detrás del Effelder Waldsee, el sendero ciclista cruza la frontera germano-holandesa. Termina en la desembocadura del Rur en Roermond.
La ruta se desarrolla casi exclusivamente sobre caminos separados para bicicletas y agrícolas. La ruta ciclista RurUfer forma parte de la red de bicicletas de NRW y está señalizada con los típicos indicadores rojo-blancos. En los tramos de Bélgica y los Países Bajos se utiliza la señalización de rutas basada en puntos de conexión.
