La Lakenhal de Herentals es una clásica lakenhal de la Edad Media. La torre adyacente era un campanario. Hoy en día contiene un carillón con 49 campanas. Es uno de los 56 campanarios en Bélgica y Francia que han sido declarados Patrimonio de la Humanidad por la UNESCO. Antes de 1430, el edificio se mencionaba como gulden huys, 'meethuys y loter-huis. Ese año recibió el nombre de 'stadhuis'. En el siglo XV fue reconstruido por los tejedores de paños y lanas como lakenhal. En documentos antiguos, de antes de 1430, se menciona el edificio como 'stadhuis'.
