En el sur del área natural de Zig, Limburgs Landschap vzw ha restaurado algunas viejas praderas y tierras de heno, también conocidas como meadows, que habían sido forestadas. Ahora se gestionan de nuevo, al igual que antes, de manera muy extensiva sin el uso de fertilizantes. Esto da lugar a praderas ricas en flores. La flor de Pentecostés, la verdadera flor de cuco, tres tipos de ranúnculos y el angelón crean una paleta de colores variada que además atrae mariposas.
