Inscripción del monumento:
Felicien Cauwel, Vigilante rural, Muerto por la patria, Arrestado el 30-5-1943 y llevado al campo de tortura en Breendonk, allí ejecutado el 30-11-1943.

Félicien Cauwel nació en 1885 en Nederboelare y fue fusilado por los alemanes en el campo de Breendonk a los 58 años, después de haber sido apresado 6 meses antes como rehén. Era vigilante rural en Nederboelare y vivía al inicio del camino del castillo. Está enterrado en el Campo Nacional de Tiro en Schaerbeek, en el área de honor de los fusilados. Junto a este monumento, también se nombró en Nederboelare la calle Felicien Cauwel en su honor.
