El entorno rural alrededor de la Brand se encuentra en la zona fronteriza de los municipios de Bree, Kinrooi y Maaseik. Al norte, el Itter o el arroyo de Tongerlo actúa como un eje central a través de la región. De hecho, divide el área en una parte norte, que pertenece a De Basdonk (Bree) y De Simpel (Kinrooi), y una parte sur que coincide con De Brand (Maaseik). Al este, el paisaje está delimitado por la carretera Kinrooiersteenweg (N757). En dirección sur, se conecta con el núcleo del pueblo de Neeroeteren. Al oeste, en Tongerlo, hay dos molinos de agua en el Itter: el molino Keyaert y el molino Galdermans. La red de carreteras en la zona es limitada y casi no hay viviendas.
