La zona natural de 280 hectáreas de Maaswinkel abarca el área entre el Mosa, el Zuid-Willemsvaart y la E314. En el centro se encuentra una zona paisajística y ecológicamente valiosa con prados, tierras de heno, setos, campos y arboledas. El paisaje de las orillas es biológicamente importante debido a la variada flora y fauna. Especialmente las plantas que prefieren el agua se benefician aquí. La regular inundación de las orillas con agua del Mosa garantiza que el suelo sea rico en nutrientes.
