El canal Ypres-Yser (también llamado canal de Ypres) conecta Ypres con Dixmude y el mar a través de Nieuport. Antiguamente, el canal era una arteria importante, pero actualmente está destinado principalmente a la navegación de recreo. Durante la Primera Guerra Mundial, el canal formaba parte del Saliente de Ypres, la línea de defensa contra las tropas alemanas.
