El nombre 'Muziekbos' no tiene nada que ver con la música. La 'Muz' en la palabra Muziekbos se refiere al céltico 'pantano'. A través de la compra del Sint-Pietersbos, la parte accesible al público del Muziekbos, en el sureste de Ronse, hoy tiene 107 hectáreas de superficie. Esta 'montaña' boscosa alguna vez formó parte de la frontera natural entre el norte y el sur.
