Il nome 'Muziekbos' non ha originariamente nulla a che fare con la musica. La 'Muz' nella parola Muziekbos si riferisce al 'palude' celtico. Grazie all'acquisto del Sint-Pietersbos, la parte accessibile al pubblico del Muziekbos, nel sud-est di Ronse, oggi è grande 107 ettari. Questa 'montagna' boschiva faceva un tempo parte del confine naturale tra nord e sud.
