Aquí montas en bicicleta por una de las calles más largas de Bruselas. La calle Leopoldo I conecta los antiguos núcleos de los pueblos de Laeken y Jette.
La carretera ha sido superada por el desarrollo urbano. El barrio 'Palacios sobre los Puentes', por el que pasas tras la plaza Bockstael, fue alguna vez el núcleo del pueblo de Laeken. La cerrada intimidad del barrio, encajonado entre los jardines del Palacio, el canal y una gran arteria de tráfico, le otorga una extraña intimidad.
Al final del camino ves la iglesia de Laeken, donde están enterrados los reyes belgas. Detrás de la iglesia hay un impresionante cementerio.
