El 10 de mayo de 1909 se empezó la construcción de una iglesia neogótica según un diseño del arquitecto de Gante Henri Geirnaert en un terreno que fue donado el 13 de enero de 1908 por la familia Lebegge. La construcción se completó en 1910 y la iglesia fue oficialmente consagrada en 1912. Después de la Primera Guerra Mundial se realizaron reparaciones en enero y mayo de 1919. Al comienzo de la Segunda Guerra Mundial, la iglesia fue dañada nuevamente en mayo de 1940 y más tarde restaurada. La iglesia ha estado incluida en el inventario del patrimonio arquitectónico de Flandes desde septiembre de 2010.
