Se han instalado nueve cajas nido triples para Vencejo negro en una de las torres de la antigua cervecería Belle Vue, basándose en los consejos del Grupo de Trabajo de Vencejos. Esta ave migratoria se parece mucho a una golondrina. Sin embargo, no construye un nido, sino que se instala en cavidades. El Vencejo negro pasa la mayor parte de su vida volando, cazando insectos constantemente. Presente en nuestras regiones de abril a agosto, inverna en el sur de África, a varios miles de kilómetros de casa. Las parejas son fieles de por vida y pueden utilizar el mismo sitio de anidación durante más de 15 años. La proximidad del canal le permite aquí beber.
