En Ostende , el nuevo mercado de pescado con una superficie de 5.000 m2 está operativo desde 2019 . Gran parte de la mina construida después de la Segunda Guerra Mundial ha sido demolida, pero se ha conservado la fachada histórica.
La Subasta Flamenca de Pescado pretende subastar un total de 17.000 toneladas de pescado al año, repartidas entre los sitios de Zeebrugge y Ostende. Esto genera una facturación de alrededor de 67 millones de euros (2019).
