In Oostende is de nieuwe vismijn operationeel sedert 2019 met een oppervlakte van 5.000 vierkante meter. Een groot deel van de mijn - die gebouwd werd na de Tweede Wereldoorlog - werd gesloopt, maar de historische gevel werd behouden.
De Vlaamse Visveiling wil in totaal elk jaar 17.000 ton vis veilen, verdeeld over de sites in Zeebrugge en Oostende. Dat levert een omzet op van ongeveer 67 miljoen euro (2019).
