En el siglo XIX, hombres fuertes transportaban los árboles talados a través del agua en otoño o primavera, cuando el agua estaba lo suficientemente alta.
Los árboles flotaron río abajo sobre el agua hasta que terminaron en este "Vanne", el "agujero de cierre" .
Este era un lugar de almacenamiento de la madera flotante de los entonces leñadores.
Los leñadores de esa época se llamaban "Miquelets" .
