Tellin estuvo una vez muy bien ubicado en la carretera de París a Lieja. Desde esta época lejana, la ciudad ha conservado de alguna manera el aspecto del pueblo dinámico que era en el siglo XVIII. Esto también se debió a su ubicación en la ruta que seguían las diligencias de Francia a Alemania,

La hermosa iglesia fue construida en estilo neoclásico por el arquitecto Cauchet entre 1829 y 1832 y está dedicada a San Lamberto. La torre fue añadida en 1870.

Fue en 1832 cuando la antigua fundición de campanas Causard-Slegers inició sus actividades.
