Tellin una volta era molto ben posizionato sulla strada da Parigi a Liegi. Di quest'epoca lontana, il paese ha conservato per certi versi l'aspetto del dinamico borgo che era nel XVIII secolo. Ciò era dovuto anche alla sua posizione sulla rotta che seguivano le diligenze dalla Francia alla Germania,
La bella chiesa fu costruita in stile neoclassico dall'architetto Cauchet tra il 1829 e il 1832 ed è dedicata a Saint Lambert. La torre fu aggiunta nel 1870.
Fu nel 1832 che iniziò la sua attività la vecchia fonderia di campane Causard-Slegers .
