Caminar un centenar de metros por "Voetweg 38" a lo largo del estanque del club de IJse/Neerijse para ver el antiguo hotel. Los estanques, dos grandes y algunos más pequeños, son alimentados por manantiales.
El estanque de pesca en Kamstraat fue creado por la familia cervecera Bruffaerts en 1933. Originalmente, esto estaba destinado como la playa de Neerijse. Chalet du Lac se inauguró en 1934 como un restaurante-hotel. Se podía descansar en la playa y pescar en el estanque. Había vestuarios y un trampolín para los nadadores. Durante la Segunda Guerra Mundial, la explotación se detuvo y luego se reanudó. Tras la liberación, una hija de Winston Churchill fue una huésped habitual. En 1958, el año de la expo en Heysel con el atomium, fue un año excepcional para el hotel. En 1965, el restaurante-hotel dejó de funcionar. El edificio aún existe y ahora es una vivienda.
