Esta cervecería familiar fue fundada en 1897 por Arthur Van den Bossche y ha sido propiedad de la misma familia desde sus inicios, ahora la cuarta generación .
La cervecería y la casa cervecera anexa forman un ejemplo bien conservado de una cervecería de pueblo de finales del siglo XIX. El complejo incluye una sala de cocción, una maltería, una cochera, una herrería y pozos , agrupados alrededor de un patio adoquinado.
La cervecería es más conocida por sus cervezas Pater Lieven y la gama Buffalo .
La primera cerveza Buffalo, Buffalo 1907 , se creó, según la tradición , por casualidad durante una función del circo Buffalo Bill en el pueblo. Una remoción olvidada le dio un ligero sabor a quemado , que fue sorprendentemente apreciado.
