Alrededor de la plaza adoquinada Marktplatz y en Tidexerstraße se encuentran notables casas de entramado de madera de estilo gótico y renacentista. Dos edificios impresionantes en la plaza del mercado están dedicados al famoso pícaro de la ciudad, Tijl Uilenspiegel.
