Winterberg es la estación de esquí más cercana a los Países Bajos. Gracias al uso de cañones de nieve, la estación de esquí es bastante fiable en cuanto a nieve. Además de la estación de esquí, Winterberg también cuenta con un par de trampolines de esquí y una pista oficial de trineo y bobsleigh. Una gran zona de esquí rodea la montaña Kahle Asten. En verano, es un encantador pueblo para caminar.
