El Nikolaiviertel (barrio de Nikolai) es un barrio en la orilla oriental del Spree en Berlín. El barrio se encuentra en la zona de Berlín-Mitte, no lejos de Alexanderplatz. Es la zona residencial más antigua de Berlín y hasta 1990 fue parte de Berlín Oriental. En el centro del barrio se encuentra la Nikolaikirche.
La construcción original de la zona fue totalmente destruida durante la Segunda Guerra Mundial. Los restos fueron luego limpiados y durante más de 30 años la zona permaneció en desuso. Solo la ruina de la iglesia de Nikolaus recordaba tiempos antiguos. Con motivo del 750 aniversario de la ciudad de Berlín, el gobierno de Berlín Oriental desarrolló un plan para la reconstrucción. El barrio fue reconstruido al estilo antiguo, pero no se realizó una reconstrucción completa. Esto se puede ver claramente en las fachadas, que en su mayor parte fueron construidas según el método prefabricado, el llamado Plattenbau. La zona fue también conocida de manera burlona como 'Disneyland socialistas' después de la reconstrucción. Hoy en día, la zona es conocida por los muchos restaurantes y bares de tradición alemana.
